The Roman Catholic Church is 1.2 billion people strong throughout the world. Established by Jesus Christ and formed by the first Apostles over 2,000 years ago, the Church exists to bring people into a closer relationship with God We are led on Earth by the Pope, the direct successor of St. Peter, the first leader of the Church hand picked by Jesus, and the bishops, the spiritual descendents of the apostles.
We believe in the Triune God- Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe God sent Jesus, through the Virgin Mary, to live among us and die for our sins so that we may be saved.
We believe Jesus rose from the dead and will return again to this world to call His followers home with him to the Father.
We believe that our Church is universal; that she is the same wherever she is present.
And we believe that one day, we too may rise from the dead to spend eternity with God!
The Church is filled with history, sacred symbols, and holy celebrations. We, at Good Shepherd, would love for you to join us whether you have been Catholic for years or are just learning about it.
